What is Hypnotherapy?
Person centred, solution focused hypnotherapy and psychotherapy helps you feel calmer, clearer and more in control of your life in two steps:
Firstly it gives you the knowledge and the tools to find a place of space and calm. This is a key first step to help reduce stress, trauma, anxiety, overwhelm and burn out. As part of our initial sessions I will give you a recording to take home so that you can practice reclaiming and experiencing a feeling of peace and calm. In this stage, you are reclaiming some space, and gaining some clarity about where you are, and where you are going, in your own time.
Secondly, we build on this, and work together to establish your objectives, changes you would like to make, what might be standing in your way, and how we are going to get there. Everything we do is focused on you, your needs, your outcomes, your way.
It often builds on strengths and resources that you already have within you, and can elicit results quicker than many other forms of therapy, Clients often find it a deeply relaxing and energising experience. In person centred therapy, collaboration is key.
Hypnotherapy can be a really effective way of managing many things including:
Stress
Anxiety
Exhaustion
Conflict
Emotional exhaustion
Trauma
Imposter syndrome
Vicarious trauma
OCD
Lack of confidence
Overwhelm
Depression
Burn out
Panic attacks
Phobias
Just feeling a bit ‘stuck’
What happens in a therapy session?
Every therapy session is completely tailored around you. Some sessions may have lots of talking in them, some may be almost entirely conducted within hypnosis. We will work together and explore what is best for you, on a session by session basis. As a general rule, most sessions incorporate both talking and hypnotherapy. We will only do what you are comfortable with. You remain in control at all times.
Due to how personalised this sort of therapy is, it is not possible to say how long we may work together. Therapy isn’t ‘off the peg’ and there can be many layers to issues such as stress, anxiety and burn out. However, rest assured that it is my job to work myself out of a job as soon as possible. I do not tie clients in to any number of sessions, so you are free to come and go as works best for you.
I find that therapy works really well both in person or online, so you just chose whatever suits you best.
